Route Description - Northern Red Sea, Ras Mohamed, Straits of Tiran
The Northern Red Sea and Straits of Tiran provide some of the most historic wrecks like the Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas. Ras Mohamed National Park includes many pristine coral reefs as well as abundant marine life.
The Straits of Tiran are the narrow sea passages between the Sinai and Arabian peninsulas which separates the Gulf of Aqaba from the Red Sea. These reefs, named after British cartographers (Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas, Gordon), are world famous for their extraordinary diversity of corals and pelagics.
Route Description - Northern Red Sea - Best Wreck Diving (Get Wrecked)
The northern Egyptian Red Sea serves as a haunting testament to maritime history, as it houses a plethora of shipwrecks, forming a graveyard beneath its waves. Aggressor Adventures presents a unique "Get Wrecked" itinerary, allowing enthusiasts to explore up to 12 of the most notable wreck sites in this region.
Even before the construction of the Suez Canal, the Red Sea held immense significance as a crucial waterway connecting Africa, Arabia, and beyond. The completion of the Suez Canal in 1869 further solidified its importance, transforming it into a vital trade route linking the Mediterranean and Europe to Asia. However, as shipping traffic intensified and the offshore reefs posed hidden dangers, many ships were lost, becoming submerged relics beneath the sea. Today, these wrecks, including those from wartime, have evolved into captivating playgrounds for adventurous divers. The week-long Get Wrecked itinerary departs from Hurghada and takes in some of the very-best wreck dives in the world. Guests will spend the week diving up to 12 wrecks in the northern Red Sea. Up to 19 wreck dives are offered and 2 reef dives.
